Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Ambassador Tan Hung Seng, chaired the WTO Council for Trade in Services (CTS) session on 1 July 2020. This was the first CTS meeting of the year. The meeting discussed a range of issues, including services notifications, enhancing digital capabilities and the impact of COVID-19 on services sectors. The CTS is responsible for facilitating the operation of the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS).
